VRE is a production-scale trajectory data system deployed in Alibaba Cloud's spatiotemporal database engine, serving real workloads over vehicle, vessel, and aviation data. The system is designed for the three properties named in its title — versatility across diverse trajectory data types and query patterns, robustness under production-grade conditions, and economical operation at the scale required by a cloud database product.
